New driver on road

It is official Tori can now learn how to drive she went down Monday and passed her written driving test. So for almost a year I can sit in the passenger seat again and wear out the floor board. So far I have only hit it one time. I am trying to be very patient and supportive. When we walked out of the police station she said now she had a reason to carry a purse.

Tori leaves Monday for Church camp in TN she will be gone for the whole week. I know she is going to really enjoy this time of worship and fellowship but I will miss her alot.

We all went down yesterday and decorated the tombstone. We wanted bright flowers and I think they turned out really good.

They got the tombstone set yesterday it turned out really nice. Dad always liked the black ones so that is what Mom wanted to get. The only thing they forgot to put the initials on the vases so they will come back after memorial day and do that. I took the old saddle back to the flower shop so they could make us a new one.

It has been one year since dad passed away. I need to call or go out to moms and check on her it will be a very hard day. I may go to Fayetteville with Tims sister she is expecting due in December. I miss you Daddy.

I made these for Dad years ago he was so proud of them. Mom has no room for them and she said she wanted me to display them since I had made them. I have not got one made for Dad yet. The 27th will be one whole year it does not seem like it.

Tim got kicked by a cow 2 weeks ago this is after it happen he had to get stitches in his finger and he is going to go today and have them taken out. He was lucky that it didn't break. Cody fixed lunch for us Sunday. We are resting and getting ready for chickens back on Monday.

I am so tired of hearing how we are all such cowards and racist. I have look thru my entire tv guide and have not found a white only entertainment channel but there is a black entertainment only channel also what month is white history month since we are celebrating black history month.

We are all going with Mom Saturday to order Dads tombstone. I dread this but it has to be done they told me over the phone it could take 8 to 10 weeks to get it done and setup. Hopefully it will be up by Memorial Day. Once it is up I will post some photos if you would like to see the one we decide on.

Deans list

Cody surprised us all he made the Deans list his first semester at the UofA. We are proud of him. The picture below the letter was in 1st grade he is still funny and is liked by all but he does have his head on straight so far. I told him he just as well stay in college because there are not very many jobs right now and in 4 years there might be more.

Illegals

I heard on the news yesterday that it was so bad in this country now that the illegals were going back into Mexico. I don't have a problem with the ones that are here legally. They argue that the illegals are really making us money because they dont file tax returns where i once worked most of the ones that were illegal would claim 8 or more dependents and we all know that with that many dependents they dont hold out that much in taxes and most of them send there money back to Mexico.

Cow

No this is not one of our cows but if we had this on our farm I am sure it would be. This week Tim went back to the chicken houses and looked over at the barn where we feed the cows and saw the most unusual thing one of our heifers was upside down in the feed trough with her legs straight up in the air. Tim hurried and got the trough turned over with the tractor so the cow was on her side and able to finally get up from her side. The crazy thing has not went back down there to eat and stays up in another field all by herself we dont know if she fell in or if the other cows pushed her over but it was something to see. Now I told Tim I would of loved to took a photo and he said he didn't want to lose the cow over a photo.

1/2 CUPS BROWN SUGAR
6 PIECES OF DRAINED PINEAPPLE AND MARASCHINO CHERRIES

COMBINED - - - MELTED BUTTER AND BROWN SUGAR AND SPREAD ON BOTTOM OF CAST IRON SKILLET.

ARRANGE---DRAINED FRUIT AND CHERRIES OVER BUTTER AND SUGAR MIXTURE.

PREPARE CAKE BATTER

3 EGGS SEPARATED

2/3 CUPS OF SUGAR
2/3 CUPS SELF RISING FLOUR
4 TBSP OF PINEAPPLE JUICE FROM THE FRUIT

BEAT EGG YOLKS UNITL THICK AND LEMON COLOR
ADD SUGAR GRADUALLY AND BEAT VERY THOROUGHLY
ADD JUICE AND FLOUR

BEAT EGG WHITES UNTIL STIFF
FOLD THE WHITE CAREFULLY INTO EGG YOLK MIXTURE POUR CAKE BATTER OVER THE FRUIT

BAKE IN A PREHEATED OVEN AT 325 DEGREES FOR 50-55 MINUTES OR UNTIL LOOKS DONE ( I DIDN'T COOK MINE AS LONG) THEN TURN ON TO SERVING TRAY. YOU CAN DOUBLE THE ABOVE RECIPE IF SKILLET IS LARGER THAN A REGULAR SIZE.

Well Mom and the rest of the bunch finally got power last night at 8:00. Mom said it was so nice this morning to take a hot shower. She is getting everything back to order and if you know Mom there is not that much out of order. I hope this is the last of winter for us we sure dont need anymore.

Mom, Gary and Brenda still do not have any power. Everyday Mom thinks it is coming back on. I sure hope it does today she is not leaving the house at all because she is afraid it will come back on while she is gone.
